NARRATION OF FORMER PM TUN RAZAK BY CLOSE FRIENDS, AIDES ON JULY 28

KUALA LUMPUR, July 15 (Bernama) -- The personality of a former prime
minister, the late Tun Abdul Razak, will be narrated to the public by his close
friends and those who had work for him in "Tun Abdul Razak, the Father of
Development - A Narration" at the Putrajaya International Convention Centre on
July 28.

The personalities are the former prime minister's private secretary, Tuanku
Zakaria Ahmad, Adam Kadir, G.K Rama Iyer and Sanusi Junid, as well as former
prime minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi and a historian, Prof Emeritus Khoo Khay
Kim.

National Archives director-general Sidek Jamil said the programme was
aimed at reminding the young generation on the importance of unity and
cooperation towards realising the 1Malaysia concept.

"The programme is an idea mooted by Tun Razak's friends to reminisce and
learn from Tun's struggle as the Father of Development," he told a media
conference after the pre-launch of the programme at the Tun Abdul Razak memorial
here Wednesday.

He said among the late Tun Razak's contributions for the country were
establishing Federal Land Development Authority (Felda), Federal Land
Consolidation and Rehabilitation Authority (Felcra), Malaysia Airlines (MAS),
MARA and the Mara Institute of Technology (now known as Universiti Teknologi
Mara-UiTM).
