HOLISTIC APPROACH IN DEVELOPMENT TO PROVIDE BETTER COMFORT

GEORGE TOWN (Malaysia), July 17 (Bernama) -- Developers and contractors
wishing to undertake any project are reminded to adopt a more holistic approach
and take into consideration the ecosystem factor to ensure better comfort to the
people.

A minister in the Prime Minister's Department, Nor Mohamed Yakcop
said this aspect was important to avoid problems that might crop up after the
completion of a development project.

"For example, when undertaking a settlement project for the low and
medium-income group, monitoring must be carried out to avoid various issues from
cropping up after the project has been completed," he told reporters after
chairing a meeting of the State Development Action Council, here Saturday.

He said the stress on this factor was not only directed to development
projects in Penang but throughout the country.
