SINGAPOREAN TOURIST KILLED IN ACCIDENT

IPOH (Malaysia), July 17 (Bernama) -- A Singaporean tourist was killed while
eight others were injured when the van they were travelling in skidded at Km
248.7 of the North-South Expressway near here Saturday.

State traffic police chief Supt Wan Abdullah Ishak said the victim, Benny
Goh, 63, died on the spot due to severe head injuries in the 11.40am incident.

He said three of those injured had been admitted to the Permaisuri Bainun
Hospital here while the other four were given outpatient treatment at the Kuala
Kangsar Hospital.

They were on their way from Butterworth to Cameron Highlands when the van
skidded and rammed into the road divider, he said.
