DUBAI CHAMBER BIDS TO HOST WORLD CHAMBERS CONGRESS 2013

DUBAI, July 17 (Bernama) -- The Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry
(Dubai Chamber) is bidding to host the Eighth World Chambers Congress 2013 in
this Gulf emirate.

If successful, it will make the United Arab Emirates the first country in
the Middle East to organise the event and help showcase the country's business
potential to the world.

Another contender is the Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The results of the bid will be announced by the World Chambers Federation
(WCF) at the end of the year, Dubai Chamber said in a statement to Bernama.

Held every two years in different regions of the world, the congress is the
only international forum that is attended by hundreds of chamber heads
representing over 12,000 chambers in the world to share best practice
experience, develop networks and learn about new areas of innovation.

Dubai Chamber said WCF director, Anthony Parkes, had just concluded a
four-day site inspection of Dubai as a follow-up to the emirate's bid to host
the event.
