ASEAN IS AN EASIER MARKET TO ACCESS

KUALA LUMPUR, July 21 (Bernama) -- Asean is a much easier market to access
by Malaysian entrepreneurs as it is closer to home, MAD Incubator's Chief
Executive Officer, Andrew Wong said.

"Besides, we almost share the same culture," he said, while indicating it is
an added advantage, as it would ease the way of doing business.

According to Wong, the existence of a low cost carrier like AirAsia, also
makes Asean a much more attractive destination for business.

He said this in his opening remarks at a talk on the Dos and Don'ts of Doing
Business Abroad in Asean.

He said MAD Incubator can help young entrepreneurs start-up their
business from the idea stage to it being commercialised.

Since inception last year, MAD has commercialised five incubatees, 20 at the
start-up level and five at the idea stage.

Asean has also emerged as one of Malaysia top export destinations.

In May 2010, exports to Asean were valued at RM13.52 billion (US$4.22
billion), up by 16.7 per cent from a year ago and accounting for 25.9 per cent
of Malaysia's total exports in May 2010.

MAD Incubator was formed on the premise that every technopreneur deserves to
have a chance to succeed and experience technopreneurship to the fullest.
