CHINESE TOURISM MINISTER DUE IN LANGKAWI NEXT MONTH
LANGKAWI (Kedah, Malaysia) July 22 (Bernama) -- China's Tourism Minister
Shao Qiwei is due in Langkawi for a visit from Aug 5-7, Tourism Malaysia
Director-General Mirza Mohammad Taiyab said.
While here, the Chinese minister and his delegation would visit the
duty-free island's premier tourist attractions such as the Pulau Payar marine
park, Mirza told Bernama, here.
The trip here is part of the minister's itinerary in Malaysia.
The delegation will also visit other attractions including Pangkor Island in
Perak state and the national capital, Kuala Lumpur.
Langkawi is an archipelago of 99 islands in the Andaman sea, some 30 km off
the mainland coast of northwestern Malaysia.
The islands are a part of the state of Kedah, which is adjacent to the Thai
border.
