PM TOUCHED BY BIRTHDAY WISHES, LOOKS FORWARD TO NEXT 1MALAYSA GATHERING

KUALA LUMPUR, July 24 (Bernama) -- Prime Minister Najib Razak Friday thanked
everyone who sent him warm wishes for his 57th birthday.

"I appreciate the birthday comments and tweets I have received thus far.
Thank you for your kind thoughts," he said in the latest entry in his 1Malaysia blog.

"It was a pleasant surprise to be welcomed with birthday wishes by the
indigenous communities of Sarawak on my visit yesterday (Thursday)."

The visit reminded him again of how 1Malaysia could truly work for all people in
the country, he said.

However, he added, after a day of social events and ceremonies around Baram,
Bekenu and Miri (in the east Malaysian state of Sarawak), including visits to
the indigenous communities, his thoughts gravitated towards the next 1Malaysia
gathering with his online friends.

Najib said to ensure the next gathering would be more meaningful, there would be
improvements made to enhance their experience and appreciation of 1Malaysia.

"Those of you who attended the last event at my house in March this year were
asked to give your feedback on the event.

"Your response had been overwhelmingly positive, with almost all of you
expressing interest in attending or helping out with future events."

Najib said based on that, he was certain they all found the dialogue session
valuable and insightful.

"I am especially pleased that all of you stated that you would recommend friends
and family to register for the next event. I hope they do.

"I have yet to finalise the details, so your ideas for the gathering are most
welcome. Perhaps an outdoor event that is closer to nature? Or an indoor
get-together at my official residence with more focus on the dialogue session?"

Najib asked his online friends to post their suggestions and keep visiting his
website for developments on the next event.
