Algeria hands over Yemen $1 mln for IDPs relief efforts
SANA'A, July 24 (Saba) -
Algeria handed over Yemen on Saturday $ 1 million as support for the relief efforts
for Sa'ada
Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs).
The amount was handed over by Algerian ambassador to Yemen Abdul Wahab Bu Zaher to
Minister of State for Parliamentary and Shura Council Affairs and Head of the
Executive
Unit for IDPs Camps Management Ahmed al-Kuhlani in the presence of Foreign Minister
Abu Bakr al-Qirbi.
Algeria has allocated the amount in response to the United Nations High
Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR)'s call to the international community to enhance
its relief activities
for the IDPs in Yemen, the Algerian ambassador said.
Al-Kuhlani and al-Qirbi voiced their appreciation of the Algerian government's
immediate response to the relief aid of Sa'ada's IDPs.
The step reflects the Algerian supportive attitude towards Yemen's unity and
stability as well as its condemnation of the destructive and rebellion calls, they
said.
