OXFORD'S SAID BUSINESS SCHOOL TO OFFER PROGRAMMES AT AKADEMI JCORP

OXFORD, July 27 (Bernama) -- Malaysia's Johor Corporation (JCorp) has inked a five-year collaboration agreement with University of Oxford's Said Business School to launch executive education programmes in entrepreneurship, leadership and Islamic management business concepts and principles.
Under the agreement, Said Business School will organise the programmes at
newly-established Akademi JCorp (Academy JCorp) in the Malaysian state of Johor.
"JCorp believes that Said Business School, being one of Europe's most
entrepreneurial business school is the most suitable strategic partner in
developing not only JCorp's management teams but also other corporate leaders in
Malaysia and the region," the company said in a statement here Monday.
JCorp and Said Business School had on April 2 signed a memorandum of
agreement for a research project on the concept of "Corporate Waqaf", an
innovative institutional adaptation that is critical to the success of building
an Islamic business community.
At Monday's ceremony, JCorp was represented by Kulim (Malaysia) Bhd Managing
Director and Akademi JCorp Director Ahmad Mohamad while Dean of Executive
Education Gay Haskins signed for Said Business School.
It was witnessed by Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Nor
Mohamed Yakcop, JCorp President and Chief Executive Officer Muhammad Ali
Hashim and University of Oxford Vice Chancellor Prof Andrew Hamilton.
Present was Chief Minister of the east Malaysian state of Sarawak Abdul Taib
Mahmud.
