AIRASIA PASSENGERS CARRIED UP 9.1 PER CENT IN JUNE

KUALA LUMPUR, July 28 (Bernama) -- AirAsia Bhd saw 9.1 per cent improvement
in passengers carried in Malaysia to 1,366,381 in June compared with 1,252,852
in the same period last year.

Its capacity also jumped eight per cent to 1,699,740 from 1,574,280.

Its load factor however stood at 80 per cent, said the leading low-cost
carrier in its monthly operating statistics Wednesday.

AirAsia also said available seat kilometres jumped 10.5 per cent from 1,820
to 1,991 and revenue passenger kilometres rose 15.6 per cent to 1,510 million
from 1,360 million in the same month last year.

Fleet size increased to 50 from 47 previously.
