PAKISTAN HIGH COMMISSION ENSURES WELL-BEING OF PAKISTANI CITIZENS
KUALA LUMPUR, July 31 (Bernama) -- In the past six months, the Pakistani
High Commission has repatriated 578 workers and helped another 1,500 who faced a
myriad of problems here.
Its officials had also visited 21 manufacturing companies and construction
sites to assess the work conditions of Pakistani workers in the country, said
Acting High Commissioner Dr. Imtiaz A. Kazi.
He said the high commission also provided consular and welfare services to
the Pakistani community and also assisted those stranded to return home.
These were among the proactive measures to ensure the well-being of the
30,000 Pakistani workers in Malaysia, he said in a statement to Bernama Friday.
Imtiaz noted that while there was a growing trend of Pakistanis seeking
employment in Malaysia, he cautioned they should follow the correct procedure in
coming here.
He said the high commission had also established a camp office in Sabah
to cater to the growing number of its citizens there.
