BERNAMA LAUNCHES KID'S 1MALAYSIA CLUB

KUALA LUMPUR, July 31 (Bernama) -- Bernama, the Malaysian national news
agency, Saturday launched the Bernama Kid's 1Malaysia Club aimed at cultivating
reading habits among children of the agency's employees.

It is also aimed at nurturing writing and photography talents and
inculcating love for the environment.

The Bernama Kid's 1Malaysia Club, set up two months ago and managed by
Bernama's Infolib Unit, has about 100 members aged between four and 17.

Bernama general manager who is also the club's patron, Hasnul Hassan, said
the club also provided an avenue for Bernama employees to interact through
activities organised by the club.

Various activities were held at the launching of the club Saturday including
colouring contest, games, story-telling and sale of books at discounted prices.

There was also a special performance by a percussion ensemble comprising
visually-impaired students from the Setapak School of Special Education.
