Fishery information network projects discussed

SANA'A, July 31 (Saba)- Fisheries
Minister Mohammad Shamlan headed on Saturday a meeting to discuss a report submitted
by the
International Indemar Fisheries Company on the ongoing implementation process of
fishery information system which is implemented by the company at a cost 940
thousand Euros.
During the meeting, they reviewed the program of fishery information unit prepared
by the company which aims to develop the outline of the fish stocks study in the
Yemeni
waters to control the volume of fish and the policy of granting licenses for fishing.
The meeting also dealt with a report submitted by Greek Lamand Company on the
ongoing project progress of high quality products and fish exports which is
implemented by
the company.
Fisheries Minister Mohammad Shamlan urged the two companies on the necessity to
abide by studies and specifications agreed upon during the implementation of these
projects,
praising the level of support provided by the European Union for the advancement of
fisheries sector in Yemen.
He pointed to the importance of these projects in the infrastructure development of
fisheries and supporting quality control.
