First campaign against Dengue Fever launched in Mukala
MUKALA, July 31 (Saba)- The
first campaign to combat the Dengue Fever was launched on Saturday in the city of
Mukala,
Hadramout province, which will last until August 8.
At the launch of the campaign, Head of Services Committee at the administration of
the local council in Hadramout, Mohamed Faris, stressed the need to concentrate
efforts
to combat the dengue fever disease.
Faris called on the citizens to interact with the campaign and report any infected
areas to clean it by spraying teams spreading in all areas of Mukalla city. He
confirmed
the support of the local authority, supporting agencies and civil society
organizations in Hadramout to this campaign.
For his part, Director of the Office of Public Health and Population Dr. Al-Abd
Ba-Mosa affirmed that the campaign is a base for launching a comprehensive
awareness amid
citizens in the zones of the city. He noted that combating this disease is a
national mission and a religious duty.
The Member of the Higher Committee to combat dengue fever, Dr.
Abdullah bin Ghouth, pointed out that the campaign targets 140 houses in the city,
with participation of 245 volunteers.
He pointed out that the campaign targets in its first phase 20 thousand houses in
addition to combating outside homes by spraying swamps and stagnant pools and it
would
be followed by other campaigns for the protection from the dengue fever for next
four months.
