Yemen, GTZ sign technical cooperation agreement
SANA'A, July 31 (Saba) - Yemen and
the GTZ signed here on Saturday a technical cooperation agreement to implement the
sixth
component of the project to improve public education at a cost of 2 million Euro.
The agreement stipulates improving the technical education and vocational training
components via providing experts and equipment in addition to basic and subsequent
training.
It also included sending German experts in different fields of technical education
and vocational training programs as well as supporting girl technical education
programs
to raise the level of girls' enrolment in education institutions in the coming years.
Improving the quality and efficiency of the labor market's outcomes in addition to
carrying out new training programs to cope with the markets needs were also
included in
the agreement.
Under the agreement, a surveying study will be conducted to analyze labor market
and identify its needs in October.
The agreement was signed by Minister of Technical Education and Vocational Training
Ibrahim Omar Hajri and the Acting Director of GTZ office in Sana'a Kono Fischer.
After signing the agreement, Hajri hailed the German support to Yemen in various
fields.
For his part, Fischer said that the agreement would open new horizons and provide
more support in technical and vocational education areas.
