MALAYSIA AIRLINES EXTENDS MHINSURE SCHEME TO UAE TRAVELLERS

DUBAI, August 5 (Bernama) -- Malaysia Airlines is making it easier for
travellers in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to purchase travel insurance online
with the introduction of its MHinsure scheme here.

The carrier's global travel insurance programme is coordinated through Mondial
Assistance, a leading provider of travel insurance assistance services.

Malaysia Airlines' regional general manager for the Middle East, Africa and
South America, Merina Abu Tahir, said MHinsure provided a wide array of valuable
emergency and travel assistance services.

It offers comprehensive 24-hour worldwide emergency assistance, and includes
coverage for medical expenses, cancellations, baggage losses, delays and other
travel disruptions.

"Customers have the option to purchase this product at the time they purchase
their airline tickets at www.malaysiaairlines.com," Merina said here.

First introduced in Malaysia in 2008, a total of 11 countries in the Malaysia
Airlines' network are now offering MHinsure.

MHinsure is available for certain destinations served by Malaysia Airlines or
its codeshare partners.

In Malaysia, Singapore and Australia, MHinsure is available to residents
travelling on any airline from these countries.

In the UAE, the United Kingdom, New Zealand, France, Germany, Italy, the
Netherlands and Sweden, MHinsure is available only with Malaysia Airlines
flights purchased online.

Xavier Mauriac, sales director at Mondial Assistance, said: "Through our
partnership with Malaysia Airlines, we aim to deliver a valuable and consistent
proposition to customers, especially online."

significant proportion of Malaysia Airlines customers, and Mondial looks forward
