In the 30-BSE index components, 11 stocks gained, while
19 ended with losses.
Anil Ambani-led RCom and R-Infra were the biggest losers
in the Sensex pack, shedding 2 per cent and 1.94 per cent
respectively.
State-owned oil and gas major ONGC also sank by 1.70 per
cent, while auto major M&M lost 1.59 per cent and Hero Honda
1.61 per cent.
In contrast, Tata Motors surged by 2.10 per cent to
register the biggest gain in the Sensex, followed by SBI,
which climbed by 2 per cent, while Maruti was up 1 per cent
and DLF 0.27 per cent.
Engineering major Larsen and Toubro rose 0.17 per cent,
after the company said it has secured projects worth Rs 1,749
crore from Steel Authority of India and Bharat Aluminium
Company.
Asian stocks ended narrowly mixed Thursday. Key indices
in China, Korea and Taiwan ended marginally lower, while Japan
and Singapore finished higher and Hong Kong ended flat.
