SABAH TO HOST MALAYSIA DAY CELEBRATION ON SEPT 16
KOTA KINABALU, Malaysia, Aug 9 (Bernama) -- East Malaysia state of Sabah has
been chosen as the host of this year's Malaysia Day celebration, Chief Minister
Musa Aman said.
"The inaugural event on Sept 16 will provide variety to this year's
Independence Month activities," he said at the launching of the Independence Month
and Jalur Gemilang (Malaysian flag) campaign here Monday.
Musa said that apart from the Malaysia Day, the state government would also
focus its attention to the National Day celebration on Aug 31.
In October last year, Prime Minister Najib Razak announced that Sept 16, the
date Malaysia was formed, would be made a public holiday from this year, saying
it was a historic occasion.
