Vientiane-Pakse-Ho Chi Minh flight to resume in October

VIENTIANE 09 AUG (KPL) - The Lao Airlines will resume its flight on the route of Vientiane, Pakse to Ho Chi Minh City of Vietnam after closing the operation for seven years.
The flight to be debuted on 19 October this year will come into service on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, according to a press conference held in Pakse district, Champassak province, on 3 August.
This was the second press conference held by the Lao flagship airline to declare the reopening of the route linking southern Laos to Vietnam because the Pakse Airport in the southernmost province of Champassak is not ready for service due to its incomplete upgrade, said Deputy Director of Lao Airlines Mr Leui Bounbandith.
“As a result, we have postponed the operation on this route between Vientiane, Pakse and Ho Chi Minh City from February to October,” he added.
This flight is very important for the two countries Laos and Vietnam in promotion of tourism and goods transportation, particularly between Pakse and Ho Chi Minh City of Vietnam.
The Lao Airlines will organise a three-day special tour to Ho Chi Minh City on the inaugural flight on this route, said Mr Leui.
