Other major gainers in the BSE-30 include ONGC, which
climbed 2.48 per cent, while HUL was up by 2.29 per cent and
Tata Motors 1.97 per cent.
Metal stocks continued to slide amid weakness in the
Chinese economy. Sterlite Industries sank by 2.55 per cent,
the most in the Sensex pack, while Tata Steel lost 0.14 per
cent.
Other major losers include Jaiprakash Associates, which
fell by 1.37 per cent, ITC (down 1.29 per cent) and ICICI Bank
