LOCAL TALENTS PRODUCE WORLD CLASS MULTIMEDIA CONTENTS, SAYS MDeC COO
KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 14 (Bernama) -- Multimedia contents produced by local talents
are on par or exceed world standards, says Multimedia Development Corporation's
(MDeC) chief operating officer, Ng Wan Peng.
She said the level and quality of entries received for MSC Malaysia
Intellectual Property Creators Challenge 2010 (IPCC) have exceeded expectations.
"I am confident that their quality contents can be showcased and marketed
globally," she said at a ceremony here Friday night to announce the winners of
MSC Malaysia IPCC 2010.
The key objectives of this year's challenge, among others is to nurture new
talents in content creation by turning ideas into reality.
Ng said this year's submission saw an increase of 32 per cent for the four
categories comprising animation, computer casual games, mobile games and digital
interactive comic.
Winners in the first three categories received a RM50,000 (US$15,825) grant
while for the fourth category, a sum of RM20,000 (US$6,250).
T.H.A.W.S (The Heroic Adventures of Wira & Samad) produced by Orang Lidi, Tok &
Tapir by Tapir Reka Sdn Bhd and Borneo Renegades by Bigbeak Pictures (M) Sdn Bhd
were among the winners under the animation category.
For computer casual games category, winners were The Ancient Diary by B.A.S.I.C,
TVBOY by Team P and Poco Poco Cheeroco by Genkeekun.
Fantasi Pip Kisah Si Patung Pari Pari by Suraya and Hasyimah, Journey to G.I.L.A
by Spacezoo and Mercs by Animanga Corps were among the winners for digital
interactive comic category.
Among winners under the mobile games category, taking a winning prize of
RM20,000 each, were Space Ship Ion by XFoundation, Gasing Galop by Rianglab and
Drug Busters by Luna Factory.
