China gives plant disease analytical devices to Laos
VIENTIANE,13.AUG (KPL)- The Government of China has presented five sets of plant disease analytical device Sanitary and Phytosanitary (SPS), worth 1.2 billion kip, to the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry.
“It is the first time the Ministry has received the SPS from the Chinese government,” said Minister Sitaheng Rasphone.
“This assistance significantly contributes to the improvement of plant quarantine which plays an important role in preparing Laos for its integration into the world market,” said Mr. Sitaheng.
The device will then be distributed to the provinces of Luang Namtha, Sayaboury, Borikhamsay, Savannakhet and Vientiane Capital for the performance by relevant officials.
The handover of the assistance took place at the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry last Friday, August 13, between the Chinese Ambassador to Laos, Mrs. Bu Jiangua, and Minister of Agriculture and Forestry, Mr. Sitaheng Rasphone.
The event was witnessed by relevant officials from both sides.
