PUTERA 1MALAYSIA CLUB HUMANITARIAN MISSION LEAVING GAZA MONDAY
GAZA CITY, Aug 16 (Bernama) -- After accomplishing their objective the
Putera 1Malaysia Club humanitarian mission is expected to leave Gaza Monday
via the Rafah border point, its leader Abdul Azeez Abdul Rahim said Sunday.
He said the decision to leave earlier was because the group had succeeded in
giving assistance to more than 2,000 families in Gaza.
They managed to hand over medicines to five hospitals and clinics in Gaza
City, Jabalyah, Der Al-Balah, Khan Younis and Rafah since they arrived here on
Aug 9.
The mission's Operations Director from the Malaysian Red Crescent Society
Nasir Khan Abdul Rahman said all the 67 Malaysian volunteers would exit earlier
for security reason.
The group, accompanied by 35 doctors of various races from Gaza, entered the
conflict area via the Rafah border.
