PANALPINA OPENS FIRST DEDICATED OIL, GAS LOGISTICS FACILITY IN SINGAPORE

SINGAPORE, Aug 17 (Bernama) - Panalpina World Transport (S) Pte Ltd (PWT), a
global freight forwarder, officially opened a dedicated logistics facility
for the oil and gas industry at the Loyang Offshore Supply Base here Tuesday.

PWT is a subsidiary of Panalpina World Transport (Holding) Ltd which
specialises in end-to-end supply chain management solutions and intercontinental
air freight and ocean freight shipments.

The new built-to-suit oil and gas complex offers 1,100 square metres of
office space, a 7,000 square metres covered warehouse and 14,000 square metres
of open yard space.

It increases Panalpina Singapore's total warehousing capacity to more than
30,000 square metres.

At the launch, Panalpina World Transport (Holding) Ltd Chief Operating
Officer Karl Weyeneth said the state-of-the-art facility showcased Panalpina's
commitment towards the oil and gas industry in Singapore and beyond.

He said the company had a strong focus on the Southeast Asian markets and
the new hub would support its global upstream network and connect the region
with other major oil and gas centres in Houston, Aberdeen and Dubai.

"Singapore remains a key strategic centre for Panalpina to sustain our
growing market share in the trans-Pacific route," he added.

The Panalpina group operates a close-knit network with some 500 branches in
more than 80 countries.
