CHINESE UNIVERSITY WANTS ITS LECTURERS TRAINED AT CURTIN SARAWAK

MIRI (Sarawak, Malaysia), Aug 18 (Bernama) -- China's Hanshan Normal
University is looking forward to sending more of its lecturers to train at the
Curtin University Sarawak (Curtin Sarawak) here.

Hanshan University vice-president Yu Haoming made this remark when calling
on 12 of its lecturers who underwent a three-week English training course at the
Curtin Sarawak campus here recently.

In a statement Wednesday, Curtin Sarawak said the lecturers were the first
batch from Hanshan to undergo the course since the signing of a memorandum of
understanding between the two universities last year.

It quoted Yu as saying that Hanshan, based in Chaozhou, Guangdong, would
look into the possibility of sending some of its students on an exchange
programme with Curtin Sarawak.

Meanwhile, Curtin Sarawak Pro Vice-Chancellor Prof Ian Kerr said he was
looking forward to more collaboration with Hanshan in the future.
