GAZA EXPERIENCE EXTRAORDINARY - PUTERA 1MALAYSIA CLUB CHAIRMAN
SEPANG (Malaysia), Aug 19 (Bernama) -- Experience gained during the
humanitarian mission to Gaza is extraordinary that money cannot buy, said Putera
1Malaysia Club chairman Abdul Aziz Abdul Rahim.
He said the mission had identified 20 Palestine students to be given
scholarships to continue studies in Malaysia during the second mission in
December.
"Many need our help to fund their chlidren's studies in medicine," he told
reporters on arrival from Gaza at KL Intenational Airport (KLIA) here Wednesday.
Aziz said the members had some terrifying moments when they met senior Hamas
leaders and conducted tarawih prayers watched by 2,000 soldiers.
"We were at a refugee camp where anything could have happened. Some were
scared but I told them that we were in a holy war and should anything bad happen
we will be considered martyrs," he added.
Aziz who led the mission said they were also being watched by Israeli
cameras attached to devices looking like kites flying in the air.
Meanwhile, singer Fauziah Latiff who joined the mission said she would tell
sons Jeffry Joaquim and Jeremy Jay Indot of her experience in Gaza.
"I will show them pictures of difficulties over there and remind them how
lucky it was to be born Malaysians."
Fauziah described her experience as invaluable and would not hesistate to
join future missions.
