MASKARGO TO ADD FOUR FREIGHTERS

GEORGE TOWN, (Penang, Malaysia) Aug 24 (Bernama) -- Malaysia Airlines Cargo Sdn
Bhd (MASkargo) will take delivery of four freighters in order to build a strong
network especially within Asian countries.

Managing Director Shahari Sulaiman said the first A330 Airbus was scheduled to
arrive in September and the second unit in November.

"The two aircrafts will allow us to build on our strong Asian network and we
hope to secure another two units next year," he told reporters here after
hosting a breaking of fast with the media and clients last night.

He said Maskargo was enjoying good business this year as demand for its services
had seen a vast improvement since the beginning of the year.

"The global economic recovery has had a better impact on the cargo industry than
for the passenger travel industry.

"The growth has been aggressive and this is evident from the 65 per cent
increase in revenue between January and August this year," he said.

Shahari said strong demand, especially from the United States, was expected to
continue until year-end and the company hoped to develop the market further with
its good service.

On MasKargo's warehouse, he said the company would invest about RM100 million
(US$31.85 million), over the next three years, to upgrade the current facility
into a fully automated warehouse.

"We will also increase the warehouse's capacity to one million tonnes a year
from 650,000 tonnes at present," he said.

MASkargo is the air cargo division of Malaysia Airlines Bhd. It operates four
B747s-200F, two B747s-400F and one A300-600F covering the world's major cargo
hubs.

It also offers belly space capacity on Malaysia Airlines passenger fleet serving
almost 100 destinations worldwide.
