MALAYSIANS ARE CARING PEOPLE, SAYS FORMER PM ABDULLAH

KEPALA BATAS (Malaysia), Sept 4 (Bernama) -- Malaysians are known for their
caring attitude as reflected by their generosity in donating for those in need,
as well as victims of natural disasters in other countries, former Prime
Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi said.

He said these were basic values nurtured through a family institution which
practised respect for one another.

"This caring attitude is also reflected during the festive season, with the
giving of aid and alms, a practice which should be continued for the well-being
of us all," he said at the presentation of bursary for 110 students of
institutions of higher learning and Hari Raya aid to 300 people here Saturday.

Abdullah said he felt sad that there were people who could commit crime,
even on their family members.

"In this matter, every individual should adopt a nosy attitude to prevent
such incidence," he added.
