Terrorist act on military base in N Caucasus affects 20 soldiers

MAKHACHKALA, September 5 (Itar-Tass) - An unknown suicide bomber
rammed a Lada small car through the gate of a military base in Northern
Caucasus at around 01:00 hour Sunday leaving up to 20 servicemen wounded,
Interior officials said.
The incident occurred on the compound of the field camp of a
mechanized infantry brigade in the town of Buinaksk, the region of
Dagestan, an official said.
At the time of reporting, the data on the killed and wounded was being
clarified.
According to the sources, the Lada car exploded after breaking through
the gate.
The Dagestani Interior Ministry, the Prosecutor's Office and the
Federal Security Service FSB rushed teams of operatives and investigators
to the site of the crime.
