PROVIDE CHILDREN WITH QUALITY EDUCATION AND CARE INCLUSIVELY, SAYS PM'S WIFE ROSMAH
PUTRAJAYA, Sept 6 (Bernama) -- All efforts to provide children with quality
education and care should be inclusive, as every child is born with limitless
potential, said the prime minister's wife Rosmah Mansor.
She said education would not just assist in inculcating values, but would
eventually mould and augment the nation's moral fibre, growth and collective
harmony.
"Like I have always mentioned, children are our investment for the future.
Hence, it is the responsibility of both international and local communities to
ensure that they get the basic needs and their rights protected, as their
welfare and education are of paramount priority," she said at the Power of 10
Sen Ideal Ramadan Charity Campaign, here, Sunday.
Rosmah said, fortunately in Malaysia, local non-governmental organisations
(NGOs), corporate citizens and generous individuals were continuously committed
to assisting the government in providing the basic necessities and requirements
to the less fortunate and those struggling to make ends meet.
She said the Ideal Ramadan Charity Campaign, organised by F&N Group and
Creative Juice-Sil, was indeed a clever approach in appealing to society to chip
in for charity without hurting the wallet.
"It is my hope that all of us can make this initiative as the beginning of a
new phase to further reinforce the sense of sharing and giving within our
society.
"It is also my aspiration to see that one day our corporate citizens can
come together to complement the government's effort of eradicating poverty in
our society," said Rosmah, who is also the patron of the campaign.
Throughout the month-long campaign from Aug 8, consumers enjoy a savings of
20 sen for each can of Ideal Full Cream Evaporated Milk purchased, while F&N
Diaries contributes 10 sen to the National Children's Welfare Foundation to aid
Malaysia's underprivileged families and children.
The total amount of the donation was RM150,000 (US$1=RM3.1), including the
contribution from F&N itself.
