Russia govt to consider 12-year program for A-power industry
MOSCOW, July 29 (Itar-Tass) - Prime Minister Vladimir Putin is to tour Tuesday one of the oldest enterprises of Russia's nuclear power industry in the town of Elektrostal near Moscow -- the Elemash plant for the production of nuclear fuel for Russian nuclear power stations. Over there, the Head of the Cabinet of Ministers will hold a visiting conference dealing with the development of Russia's nuclear power industry in the period ending in the year 2020.
A RostAtom state corporation official has specified that the conference will be attended by Vice-Premiers Sergei Sobyanin and Igor Sechin, Vice-Premier and Finance Minister Alexei Kudrin, Minister ofEconomic Development Elvira Nabiullina, Minister of Energy Sergei Shmatko, and Rostekhnadzor (Federal Service for Supervision of Environment, Technology and Nuclear Management) deputy head Nikolai Kutyin.
Sergei Kiriyenko, General Director of the State Corporation, willpresent the main report on the long-term programme for the development of thus branch of industry and rules of procedure for RosAtom operation.
In response to journalists' questions, Kiriyenko said on Monday, "Both documents (the development programme and rules of procedure) have been prepared and are currently under consideration in the government". "There were contentious aspects but those have been settled by now," Kiriyenko assured reporters. He said the financing of the Programme would total more than 2,000, 000 million roubles, including both budgetary funding and RosAtom's own resources.
