Barge with submersibles arrives at Baikal dive area
ULAN UDE, July 29 (Itar-Tass) - The barge with the Mir-1 and Mir-2manned deepwater submergence vehicles has arrived at the dive area near the deepest point of Lake Baikal, an official at the headquarters of the expedition has told Itar-Tass.
The crews of the submersibles have begun preparing for a dive to adepth of about 1,700 metres.
