M'SIAN FM CALLS ON PHILIPPINES PRESIDENT



KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 15 (Bernama) -- Malaysian Foreign Minister Anifah Aman, who is
on a five-day working visit to the Philippines since Sunday, called on Pesident
Benigno S. Aquino III Tuesday.

Anifah, who was accompanied by Malaysian ambassador to the Philippines Dr
Ibrahim Saad, also visited Secretary of Foreign Affairs Alberto G.Romulo, who
hosted a lunch in honour of Anifah's visit.

Among dignitaries who attended the lunch at the Peninsula Hotel in Manila were
Presidential Advisor on the Peace Process, Teresita Deles, Chairman of the
Philippines Panel of the Government for the Republic of the Philippines-Moro
Islamic Liberation Front (GRP-MILF) Peace Talks, Marvic Leonen, Congressman for
Tawi-Tawi, Nur G. Jaafar and National Security Advisor, Cesar Garcia, said a
statement issued by the Malaysian Foreign Ministry here Tuesday.

Malaysia were represented among others by the minister's Senior Private
Secretary Harry Alian Baking and Foreign Affairs's Undersecretary for
Development, Chitra Devi Ramiah.

In conjunction with the current Aidil Fitri celebrations, the Malaysian
Ambassador also hosted a reception on Monday in honour of Anifah's visit at the
the ambassador's official residence, which was also attended by foreign
ambassadors and the Malaysian community in the Philippines.
