Lao and Thai foreign ministers discuss enhancement of Lao-Thai ties
VIENTIANE,SEPT.15 (KPL) - Lao Foreign Minister Mr. Thongloun Sisoulith and his Thai counterpart Mr. Kasit Piromya along with delegations of both sides held a bilateral meeting in Vientiane yesterday to discuss issues on the strengthening of relations and cooperation between Laos and Thailand.
The bilateral meeting took place during an official visit to Laos by Thai Foreign Minister between 14 and 15 September, 2010.
Both sides exchanged points of view on existing issues regarding the relations and cooperation between the two countries and discussed the organisation of activities to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Lao-Thai diplomatic relation which will fall on December 19, 2010.
Mr. Kasit also paid a courtesy visit to Vice President of Laos, Mr. Bounnhang Vorachith.
At the talks the Lao Vice President and the visiting Thai Foreign Minister highlighted the promotion of relation and cooperation between the two countries by encouraging both government and private sectors to participate in the strengthening of the relationship between the two neighbours.
