Putin to meet western businessmen at Sochi forum.
SOCHI, September 17 (Itar-Tass) -- Prime Minister Vladimir Putin will
on Friday address the Sochi-2010 investment forum and meet several foreign
top executives.
The main topics of the forum include improved investment climate and
competitiveness of the national economy, as well as investment
attractiveness of Russian regions and post-crisis recovery.
On the sidelines of the forum Putin will meet Boeing Commercial
Airplanes CEO James Albaugh, Royal Dutch Shell CEO Peter Voser, JP Morgan
Chase Board Chairman James Dimon, and Deere & Company CEO Samuel Allen.
The forum will also discuss preparations for Sochi Winter Olympics in
2014 and on Thursday the city began the construction of the main stadium
that will host the opening ceremony of the Games.
The stadium that accommodates 40 thousand people is also planned for
the Russian bid to host FIFA World Cup in 2018 or 2022.
"We believe our country deserves the right to host not only the Winter
Olympics, but also the football cup," said Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry
Kozak.
