Hanoi welcomes 3.7 million visitors in six months
Hanoi (VNA) - Hanoi city welcomed 3.7 million tourists in the first half of the year, a year-on-year increase of 12 percent.
As many as 80 to 90 percent of hotels' rooms in the city were used toserve the visitors, including 700,000 foreign arrivals, surging 5.15 percent over the same period last year.
In six months the capital city also licensed and appraised hotelinvestment projects and started the construction of SAS Hanoi Royal hotel.
The municipal People's Committee plans to build high-end tourist areas and adopt mechanisms and policies for businesses and investors to execute tourism projects.
