UPHOLD GOOD IMAGE OF COUNTRY, PM NAJIB REMINDS MALAYSIAN HAJ PILGRIMS

PEKAN (Pahang, Malaysia), Sept 18 (Bernama) -- Prime Minister Najib Razak Saturday reminded Malaysian Haj pilgrims to uphold the good image of the country when performing their pilgrimage to Mecca.

He said should there be any "defects" in this, it would impact pilgrims
management in future.

"I believe those performing the Haj from Malaysia this year and in future
will continue to maintain the good track record of their predecessors so that
the country's image will not be affected.

"This will help ease of management of pilgrims with the Saudi authorities
like in determining the quota for Malaysian prilgrims each pilgrimage season,"
he said during an aid presentation ceremony to 211 people from the Pekan
parliamentary constituency who will be performing the pilgrimage this year, here
Saturday.

Najib is also the Member of Parliament for Pekan.

Also present was the Pilgrims Fund (Tabung Haji) chief executive Ismeth
Ismail.
