BRUNEI SULTAN ARRIVES FOR ANNUAL CONSULTATION WITH PM

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 21 (Bernama) -- Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah of Brunei Darussalam
arrived Monday night to attend the 14th annual consultation with Prime Minister
Najib Razak in Putrajaya on Tuesday.

The sultan flew in to the Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) base in Subang near
here at 7.25pm with an entourage of 11 senior Brunei government officials.

Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah was welcomed by Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and
Consumerism Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob, Youth and Sports Minister Ahmad
Shabery Cheek and Deputy Foreign Minister Senator A. Kohilan Pillay.

The sultan inspected a guard-of-honour mounted by 26 personnel of the 1st
Battalion Royal Malay Regiment from the Sungai Besi Camp.

Meanwhile, a Foreign Ministry statement said Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah and Najib
would hold a four-eyed meeting on bilateral issues and both leaders would issue
a joint statement after the consultation.

The annual consultation is the highest platform for both countries to exchange
views on bilateral, regional and global issues of common interest.

Najib is scheduled to host a banquet for the sultan Tuesday night.
