Cong asks youth in J-K to adopt positive approach to package

New Delhi, Sep 25 (PTI) Terming the Indian
government's eight-point Kashmir initiative as holistic and
well thought-out package, the ruling Congress party Saturday
hoped that it will be reciprocated by the people of the
northern state of Jammu and Kashmir.
"It is very holistic and well thought-out package. We
hope this will be reciprocated and responded to by the people
of Jammu and Kashmir," party spokesman Manish Tewari told
reporters here.
He said the steps announced by Indian Home Minister P
Chidambaram range across the "entire spectrum of political,
economic, social and security aspects".
Asked about AFPSA, the spokesman said that there has
been an extensive public debate on the issue and as normalcy
returns, "the issue will become redundant".
He said the youth of the state should see the
announcement in the spirit it has been done and react in a
positive manner.
Speaking separately, All India Congress Committee
General Secretary Janardan Dwivedi said the party supports any
initiative taken by the government in Kashmir. PTI AMI
