Separatists 'unleashing terror' in Kashmir: BJP

Mumbai, Sep 25 (PTI) The opposition Bhartiya Janata Party
Saturday accused the separatists of "unleashing terror" in
the north Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir and said they were
responsible for the present crisis in Kashmir Valley.
Separatists like Chairman of Hurriyat
Conference(Moderate), Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Hurriyat leader
Syed Ali Gilani, and Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front chief
Yasin Malik are responsible for the mess in Kashmir, BJP
spokesperson Tarun Vijay said here.
"These three are unleashing terror," he alleged.
"In the last few years, an entire society has been
finished off in Kashmir...The uprooted people of Kashmir, who
live as refugees in places like Jammu and Delhi have lost
their traditions, ways of celebrating festivals," the BJP MP
said.
He claimed that Kashmiri children were forcibly being
used as political activists in the current situation there.
"The main culprits of killing childhood in Kashmir are
these people (separatists)," he said.
Flaying the Centre's policies on Kashmir, the BJP leader
said the bankruptcy of ideas of the ruling United Progressive
Alliance government had led to the current scenario in the
Valley.
Though the BJP was part of the all-party delegation which
visited the state recently, its members kept away from the
separatists.
BJP will oppose "tooth and nail" modification or dilution
of the Armed Forces Special Powers Act, he said. PTI VT
