Chief of criminal investigations dept killed in North Caucasus
MAKHACHKALA, July 30 (Itar-Tass) - Unknown gunmen shot and killed Police Lieutenant Colonel Khabib Abdulkadyrov, the chief of criminal investigations department in the city of Makhachkala, the capital ofRussia's North Caucasus region of Dagestan.
Fire was opened at him at around 22:30 Moscow time Tuesday when Lt ColAbdulkadyrov was driving his private jeep.
"The incident occurred at the crossroads of Imam Shamil Avenue an Magomed Yragsky Street," sources at the Makhachkala Interior department told Itar-Tass. "The criminals fired from automatic weapons from inside a Lada car." "Abdulkadyrov received multiple wounds and died on the way tohospital," a source said.
An interception search began in the city and a group of operatives wasdispatched to the site of the crime.
