USE KNOWLEDGE GAINED TO HELP DEVELOP MALAYSIA, PERLIS CROWN PRINCE TELLS MALAYSIANS IN CHINA

From Adnan Jahaya

BEIJING, Sept 27 (Bernama) -- Malaysians in China should use the knowledge
and experience gained to help develop Malaysia, the Crown Prince of Perlis,
Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail, said here.

He said they should also share the knowledge and experience with fellow
Malaysians back home.

Speaking at a meeting with Malaysians in Beijing, here Saturday night,
Tuanku Syed Faizuddin said Malaysians abroad were regarded as the country's
ambassadors
and they should uphold the country's image.

"Malaysians in China should also make a huge contribution in terms of
appreciating the 1Malaysia concept by giving priority to unity," he said at the
event held at Rumah Malaysia (Malaysian Home), here.

The Raja Muda arrived here on Friday in conjunction with the working visit
of the Perlis Islamic Religious Affairs and Malay Customs Council (MAIPs) to
China beginning Sept 20.

Tuanku Syed Faizuddin visited mosques and met with Muslim leaders here and
in Shanghai and Xian.

He also reminded Malaysians in China to equip themselves with accurate
information on various issues on Malaysia, by getting the information officially
from the Malaysian mission.

He advised Malaysian students in China to take up Mandarin and master the
language as it would be value-added for them.

They should also take an active part in permitted associations and widen
their network of communication with fellow Malaysian students and those from
other countries, he said.

Perlis Chief Minister Dr Md Isa Sabu, Perlis State Secretary
Azizan Hamid and Malaysian Ambassador to China Iskandar Saruddin were
present at the function.
