BROTHERS OF MISSING INDIAN BUSINESSMAN CALL AT INDIAN MISSION
KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 28 (Bernama) -- Two brothers of an Indian businessman
reported missing in Malaysia Monday came to the Indian High Commission here,
apparently to give statements on the matter.
Vijaya Subramaniam and Dr Kasi Viswanathan, the elder brothers of A.
Muthuraja who went missing after coming to Malaysia on Jan 18, arrived at the
high commission in Jalan Taman Duta at about 3.30pm and left at about 5pm.
Dr Kasi Viswanathan, when approached by reporters, said they would be in
Kuala Lumpur until the case of his missing brother was solved.
He said their parents would be brought here as well if the police required
them to be present.
"We are waiting for the Malaysian police to give official invitations to our
parents. I will be here until the problem is solved," he told reporters outside
the high commission.
Meanwhile, Selangor police chief Khalid Abu Bakar, when contacted,
said the police were not informed about the arrival of Muthuraja's brothers.
"The police do not know of their presence. They may have been invited by the
high commission," he said.
Muthuraja, 34, was reported missing after he had arrived on Jan 18 at the KL
International Airport in Sepang and was believed to have been met by two men now
assisting the police in the investigation into the Banting murders.
His wife, S. Usharani, 24, lodged a police report about her missing husband
on Sept 8 at the Banting police station, and gave a statement at the Kuala
Langat district police headquarters on Friday.
The Banting murders refers to the deaths of cosmetics millionaire
Sosilawati Lawiya, 47, her driver Kamaruddin Shamsudin, 44, lawyer Ahmad Kamil
Abdul Karim, 32, CIMB Bank officer Noorhisham Mohammad, 38, who went missing on
Aug 30 after going to Banting, Selangor, over a land deal.
Police found out that the four were killed, their bodies burnt and the ashes
thrown into rivers in the vicinity of Ladang Gadong near Banting, and arrested
eight suspects to help with the probe into the murders.
