PERLIS CROWN PRINCE VISITS FOREIGN AFFAIRS OFFICE OF MND, CHINA

BEIJING, Sept 28 (Bernama) -- The Crown Prince of Perlis, Tuanku Syed
Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail, visited the Foreign Affairs Office (FAO) of the
National Defence Ministry here Sunday, in conjunction with his working visit to
China.
He was welcomed on arrival by the FAO deputy head Major General Jia Xioning
who regarded the Crown Prince's visit as boosting Malaysia-China relations.
During the visit at the invitation of the FAO, the Crown Prince was also
briefed on the FAO's operations and he then exchanged gifts with Jia.
In the Perlis government delegation were Chief Minister Dr Md Isa
Sabu and State Secretary Azizan Hamid, with Malaysian ambassador to China
Iskandar Sarudin also present during the visit.
The Perlis Crown Prince has been in China since Sept 2l, leading the state
government and Perlis Islamic Religious Affairs and Malay Customs Council
(MAIPs) delegation on the working visit.
During his China visit which ended Monday, Tuanku Syed Faizuddin who is also
MAIPs president, visited mosques and met Muslim community leaders in Shanghai,
Xian and Beijing.
He also met with Chinese Muslim entrepreneurs and businessmen, and Malaysian
businessmen and students in China, and visited several tourist attractions
including the Great Wall of China outside Beijing city and the Terracotta Museum
in Xian.
The museum houses thousands of terracotta warriors and horses, said to be
more than 2,000 years old.
Accompanied by the Perlis delegation, the Crown Prince also visited the
Shanghai World Expo 2010 on Sept 21 and launched a Perlis food promotion at the
Tianyu Gloria Grand Hotel in Xian one day later.
Perlis is the smallest state in Malaysia. It lies at the northern part of
the west coast of Peninsular Malaysia and has Satun and Songkhla Provinces of
Thailand on its northern border.
