TWO BROTHERS OF MISSING INDIAN BUSINESSMAN GIVE STATEMENTS TO COPS

BANTING (Malaysia), Sept 30 (Bernama) -- Two brothers of Indian businessman Allal Kanthan Muthuraja, who was reported missing earlier this year, gave their statements to the police at the Kuala Langat Police District Headquarters here Wednesday.

Dr Kasi Visvanathan and Vijaya Subramaniam, who were accompanied by lawyer
K. Saraswathy, entered the police station at noon Wednesday. Dr Kasi's wife was
also present.

Vijaya said he believed his brother's disappearance had nothing to do with
the two lawyers implicated in the murder of cosmetics queen Sosilawati
Lawiya and three others.

"I believe my brother is still alive," he told reporters before entering the
police station.

Until press time, the two brothers had yet to leave the police station.

Meanwhile, Muthuraja's wife, S. Usharani dropped by at the police station at
9am and left with a man at 5.15pm.

She told reporters that she returned a letter for Muthuraja's parents,
requiring them undergo DNA tests, to the police as she had lost contact with
them for the past six months.

Usharani said she would continue giving her statement to the police Thursday
before returning to Ramapuram, Chennai on Friday.

Earlier, two police investigating officers entered a law firm owned by
the main suspect in the murder of Sosilawati and three others at about 11.40am
and left 20 minutes later with a box of files.
