GROUP LOTUS LAUNCHES FIVE NEW MODELS AT PARIS MOTORSHOW 2010

From Mahanum Abdul Aziz

PARIS, Oct 1 (Bernama) -- Group Lotus is on track to achieve its
transformation plan with the introduction of five new models at the Paris
Motorshow 2010.

The new models are Lotus Elan, Lotus Elite, Lotus Elise, Lotus Esprit and
Lotus Eterne.

Its Chairman, Mohd Nadzmi Mohd Salleh, said by unveiling five new
models at the Paris Motorshow 2010, the group became the first car manufacturer
in the world to launch five new models at one time.

On the new models, he said they were a reflection of elegance and a
breakaway from the traditional models.

Speaking to Malaysian reporters after unveiling the models here, he said it
was important for a car company to have winning models to ensure good
performance.

Lotus Group Chief Executive Officer, Danny Bahar, said the new models would
be available in the market by October 2012.

The first model to be commercialised would be the Lotus Elan and the others
will follow suit.

Commenting on the cost of developing the five models, Mohd Nadzmi said
that although Proton Holdings Bhd had the capabilities to fund the project, it
had asked Group Lotus to find their own financial sources to fund the project.

On Group Lotus' overseas expansion plan, Bahar said the group planned to
enter 25 new markets going forward.

He said the group was already exporting its products to 30 countries.

Group Lotus is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Proton.
