INDIAN ISLAMIC MONUMENT PHOTOGRAPHY EXHIBITION GOOD FOR M'SIA-INDIA TIES

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 2 (Bernama) -- The Indian Islamic Monument photography exhibition at the Islamic Arts Museum here will help to foster and strenghthen cultural relations and mutual understanding between India and Malaysia, said Information Communication and Culture Deputy Minister Dennis Maglin D'Cruz.

He said that there should be more events like these, which would lead to
communion of cultures and creative dialogue between India and Malaysia.

"The exhibition is not only intended to increase awareness within the
Muslim community that created the art, it also aims to improve understanding
from outside the community," he said when launching an exhibition of photographs
taken by well-known Inian photographer Benoy K Behl, who is also a filmmaker and
art historian, and his compatriot Abhinav Atris at the museum here Friday.

Also present was India's High Commissioner to Malaysia, Vijay Gokhale.

The exhibition showcasing India's architectural heritage such as in
Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat and Kashmir through photographic exhibition
will end on Dec 15.
