SINGAPORE PORT INVITES NOMINATION FOR MARITIME AWARDS

SINGAPORE, Oct 5 (Bernama) -- The Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore
today invited the maritime community here to nominate deserving candidates and
companies for the 2011 edition of the Singapore International Maritime Awards
(IMA).

In a statement, it said the prestigious IMA recognises individuals and
companies for their outstanding contributions to Singapore's development as a
premier global hub port and an international maritime centre.

The seven categories for the awards are International Maritime Centre Award
(Cor porate and Individual), Excellence in Training Development Award,
Outstanding Maritime R&D and Technology Award, SRS Ship Owner of the Year
Award, Bunker Award, Maritime Service Provider Award, and Offshore and Marine
Engineering Award.

Nomination forms and assessment criteria for IMA 2011 are available at
www.mpa.gov.sg, and nominations will close on Dec 22 this year.
IMA 2011 is held in conjunction with the 6th Singapore Maritime Week which
will run from April 10 to 15 next year.
