MALAYSIAN QUEEN ATTENDS TEA RECEPTION WITH FIRST LADIES
KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 13 (Bernama) -- Malaysian Queen Tuanku Nur Zahirah
Tuesday attended a tea reception with a delegation of First Ladies at National
Palace, here.
The Queen also held conversations with all the First Ladies present at the
function held in conjunction with the inaugural First Ladies Summit. Among them
were Sriranthi Rajapaksa (Sri Lanka), Thandiwe Banda (Zambia) and Sia Nyama
Koroma (Sierra Leone).
Also present were the Malaysian prime minister's wife Rosmah Mansor, who is
the patron of the summit, and Women, Family and Community
Development Minister Shahrizat Abdul Jalil.
The three-day summit is attended by 15 First Ladies, six representatives of
First Ladies and 20 ministers.
Themed "A Child Today, A Leader Tomorrow", the First Ladies Summit 2010
focuses on ways in which families, communities and governments can work together
to uncover the potential in every child.
On Tuesday night, the First Ladies and their delegations will be entertained
to a cultural show at Palace of Culture.
