FRANCIS YEOH, FIRST MSIAN TO RECEIVE 2010 OSLO BUSINESS FOR PEACE AWARD

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 16 (Bernama) -- YTL Corporation Bhd Managing Director Dr
Francis Yeoh Sock Ping became the first Malaysian to receive the
prestigious 2010 Business for Peace Award at the fourth annual Oslo Summit.

The award recognises Yeoh for championing ethical and socially responsible
business practices at home and around the world.

Business for Peace Foundation Chairman Per Leif Saxegaard said under Yeoh's
stewardship, YTL has grown from a single-listed entity to become one of
Malaysia's largest corporation.

"While YTL's success clearly demonstrates business acumen of the highest
order, it is Yeoh's philosophy about how business should be conducted which
has brought him honour," he said in a statement Saturday.

Meanwhile, Yeoh said the recognition was an acknowledgement of the hard
work, exemplary attitude and persistence of everyone at YTL to combine excellent
business practices with the highest standards of ethical and social
responsibility.

"I'm very humbled by this recognition from the international community. This
is a great encouragement to myself and to YTL to continue the path we have
chosen," he said.

Under the leadership of Yeoh, YTL has grown into an international
conglomerate that has pioneered numerous outstanding projects around the world,
benefitting many communities and creating positive social change.

This includes the recent launch of the first ever nationwide 4G network that
covers almost 60 per cent of Malaysia and the establishment of a high-speed
railway in Kuala Lumpur.
